About Paradise Valley Arizona
There are actually two Paradise Valleys. The first is the Town of Paradise Valley, which is an affluent enclave that is surrounded by Camelback Mountain. It is mostly composed of high-dollar residential properties and a few award-winning destination resorts.
The second is Greater Paradise Valley, which is a notably larger community with a more diverse economic base. It is anchored by the Paradise Valley Mall which encircles other retail developments, apartments, condos and health-care facilities.
With the highest median home prices in the Phoenix metro area, Paradise Valley is home to some of the premier luxury homes in the country. Moreover, the city features 11 world class resorts including Camelback Inn, Hermosa Inn and El Chorro Lodge. Homes in Paradise Valley enjoy spectacular views of nearby Camelback Mountain, the Phoenix Mountain Range as well as Mummy Mountain.
Paradise Valley History
in the 1880’s, the Rio Verde Canal Company came up with an idea to turn the desert land west of Scottsdale into a farming section. The company named this area Paradise Valley, because of the abundance of wildflowers found growing throughout. Although, their idea never came to pass the name Paradise Valley stuck. After while, the city of Phoenix began to grow and prosper. Some people decided that Paradise Valley would be perfect for new homes. Homes began to be built, along with some high-end resorts. In 1961, Paradise Valley was incorporated.
